Tour Game 6 – Dbacks BC (Canada)

AZ Fall Classic Game 2

NZL vs British Columbia Diamondbacks finished 4-4 after 7 innings played

Highlights:

Mackenzie Quarterman got the start in Game 2 of the doubleheader under lights in the Main Stadium at Peoria Sports Complex. He went 4 innings giving up only 2 runs.

NZ took the lead early with walks to Khalid Gilbert and Quinten Niu. Dewald de Klerk was then hit by a pitch to load the bases. The D’Backs BC pitcher then threw a wild pitch and 2 runs scored (Niu hustled from second base and scored on a throwing error by the catcher, throwing the ball past the pitcher). This was followed by another wild pitch and a quick 3-0 lead.

NZL scored again in the second inning. Iranui Holthausen got on base with a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and came home on a hit by Niu to make it 4-0.

BC came back with 2 runs in the 4th inning off Quarterman, and got another 2 runs off Sam Harvey to tie the game 4-4. Sam Hollings and Matt Boyce also pitched well in the game.
