Since the announcement of New Zealand's entry into the World Baseball Classic, Baseball New Zealand have been inundated with players, coaches and officials wanting to know more information on whether they are eligible to represent their country, or how they can help build the country's baseball programme.
Baseball New Zealand is always on the lookout for the next rising stars of New Zealand Baseball and are interested to hear from any eligible players who can add to the strength of our National team and age grade squads.
The Criteria
Eligibility:
Players must meet one of the following criteria:
- New Zealand Citizenship and a valid passport
- New Zealand Residency
- New Zealand Birth Certificate or equivalent
- Eligible for New Zealand Citizenship
Alternately, a player may be eligible if their parents:
- Were/Are a citizen of New Zealand (passport or other)
- Were/Are born in New Zealand (birth certificate or equivalent)
Baseball New Zealand will be pleased to assist players and parents with the complexities of the right to citizenship.

As Baseball New Zealand builds towards the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in 2012 and the possibility of the Olympics in 2020, the organisation is on the lookout for anyone who can help to build the baseball programme in New Zealand to a world beater.
